Education
One of our key activities involves the promotion
of a greater understanding of agriculture.
 |
|
We achieve this in a number of ways.
This year we escorted almost 600 school children round Eastburn
Farm. The children see many diverse aspects of both traditional and modern day
Yorkshire Wolds farming. The students follow this up with
specific project work on farm and back at school using the data
they collected or the things they have seen to add reality to their works.

We also this year have published a book, A
Time To Reap written by Dr.Stephen Harrison this book charts the
development of the East Ridings agriculture from pre-history to the present
day.
This book launched on May 17th 2001 is available by
mail order from the showground with the full advantages of credit card
facilities.
The book is also available from all quality local
book shops and direct from the showground office.
